Dick Grayson

It's been over a year and a half since I've been home for more than a few hours. I can pretty safely say this isn't the welcome back party I expected. [There's some humor there, but he mostly just sounds... tired. Maybe a little in shock. There's a short pause, and there's some quiet, largely unintelligible conversation with someone that sounds like Tim for those with good ears before Dick continues, and his voice is harder, more focused.

This might not be their Gotham, but they sure as hell aren't going to let it burn to the ground, and Dick is stepping up into leader mode. Which means bossy, lecture-y Bat, so sorry about that guys. :c]

I understand that for some of you, this is like stepping onto a set of a movie, but these are not characters from a cheesy kid's cartoon. They're violent, psychopathic murderers. If you see the Joker, or anyone dressed up in clown make up, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. Do not try to engage him or any other costumed criminal unless you have no other choice. This isn't me trying to lecture you on laws of reality or common sense, it's advice to keep you safe.

Anyone who's able and willing should support the GCPD in any way they can. I understand first priority is keeping your inmates and yourself safe throughout port, but I'd be appreciative to anyone who's able to help stop this from getting worse. [And here he's warden filtering directions to the GCPD headquarters and Gotham General, with a note about how he's not sure either will be operational, but they're enough of a jumping off point to orient people and he'll provide further information once he gets updates.]

Stick together, and watch each other's backs. If anyone starts getting reports of or runs into anyone who's fallen overboard, keep people informed. Keep track of your inmates.

[Filtered Separately to Steph, Cassie and Superboy]

Tim and I are headed to see how bad the damage is. [Meaning, they're finding the Manor and the Cave and seeing if there's anything they can salvage/any proof that people they care about are still alive. :|] Try to organize anyone who's willing to help to start getting things under control, and make sure someone's helping out anyone who doesn't have combat experience who decided to leave the ship. We'll be able to help in a couple hours at most.

And I know this isn't a major concern on the Barge, but try not to be too open about our identities, especially on public filters. We don't know who could be compromised, and who they could pass the information along to in this world that could endanger our counterparts when things go back to normal. [Assuming they're still alive, anyway. :|]

If we find any information about [what happened to everyone else and if they're alive or not] you'll be the first to know.

[Filtered to Steph and Cassie]

Keep an eye on him. I trust you both to be able to figure out where to start working.

[Filtered Separately to Kirk, Shego, Buffy, Dean, Sara and Steve, forward dated to after he's got some more gear]

I need to meet with you in person at your earliest convenience. Assuming you came into port.

And a Private to Rorschach and a Spam for Tim to spare your flist. )

[ooc: Dick is slipping pretty heavily into Batman mode, so he probably won't reply to trollish responses, and Tim will probably be chiming in as well. Dick will be out and about in port in the Batsuit pretty much the whole time, and I'll be putting up a log for that later in port for anyone who wants to run into him, and will obviously be tagging around with him! Batman tags will probably be coming from [personal profile] isthenight because omnomnom icons.

FEEL FREE TO ASSUME THIS IS A WHILE AFTER THE ADMIRAL'S ANNOUNCEMENT. I just got impatient and wanted to post. :V]

Ivy's been taken down to Zero, the hostages were mostly unharmed, but Hoffman's in the infirmary for some injuries sustained during the rescue. Graham and Stildyne were both killed and are recovering in the infirmary.

[And that's all he wants to say about it, because people getting killed because he asked them to help = terrible.]

[Private to Rorschach]

So, I've got your file. Would you like to meet in person, or talk over the network?

[Spam for Jim]

This is a cut. )

People were talking about wanting a report on what actually happened, and I can't give any details about what went down in the CES or when it came to actually finding the Admiral because I wasn't there, but as far as taking the bridge back, this is what I've got:

Not long after people were stuck in the CES and the crew members became hostile, John Connor, Robert Capa, Una Persson, Comrade O'Brien and I decided we needed to get into the interior of the ship to try and get to the bridge. Una was teleported to the CES by Flagg after making an attempt to get to the bridge directly. After that failed, the rest of us went into the ship's interior and after a while - we're not sure how long, time distorted itself while we were down there - O'Brien turned around to try a reset of the ship's defenses. Not long after, Connor, Capa and I made it to the bridge, confronted Flagg and held down the fort until the Admiral was located, at which point, we were teleported out, presumably all back to our cabins.

That's really all that happened for us. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.

[Filtered to John, Capa, and O'Brien]

We can't tell people anything specific about the interior of the ship, and especially the bridge. No layouts, no schematics, no details, nothing. I'm not suggesting we submit to a mind wipe or anything drastic like that to keep the information safe, but I'm trusting you to understand why this is vital to the further safety and security of the Barge. There are too many people on board who would abuse any details we were able to give them, and I don't think any of us want to do the crawl to the bridge again if we can help it.

Wish I could say that was interesting. Anyone get tossed off? [The tone clearly implying "I sure hope they did trollolol c:"]

[Private to Costigan]
Where are you?

[ooc: Dick is not actually affected, but will be pretending to be, and has done his homework on his counterpart, so people probably shouldn't notice much is off unless they know him particularly well.]

[Warden Filter, David + Costigan & Inmates who are known causalities.]

Earlier this morning, David Harris went on a rampage, while affected by Death Knight abilities apparently granted by Arthas Menethil. His specific goal was to attack his warden, Jason Bourne, but while affected attacked and injured several others.

His known victims are:
- Slade Wilson - Alive (?), frozen solid.
- Dallas Winston - Killed, assaulted.
- Rex Lewis - Alive, assaulted,
- Zuko - Alive (?), frozen solid.
- Vanessa VanCleef - Alive, assaulted.
- Claire Bennet - Alive, assaulted, was incapacitated by ice.
- Jason Bourne - Alive, assaulted.

Tim Drake and I intervened when we heard a disturbance in the dining hall. David had his warden, Jason Bourne, pinned up against a wall by the throat, and didn't recognize us initially. After talking him down, he gave up the powers himself, without being forced to, and stopped his attack. Tim's taken David down to Zero.

Does anyone actually have status reports on the people he attacked, or more information about people who might have been injured? People who were hurt, a sound off would definitely be appreciated, if you're up to it. If not, I need some help trying to figure out where they are and how much immediate medical attention they'll need.

[Same Filter, but minus David.]

[There's a short pause. When Dick speaks again, it's definitely not in the voice of the usually good natured, friendly twenty something guy he usually presents himself as. It's harder, more intimidating and has serious overtones of Batman in it.]

I just want to make it explicitly clear that anyone who attempts revenge for what happened is going to have me and Tim to deal with. We've had issues in the past with people taking revenge after incidents like this - [The largest one he's got in mind, of course, is Perry's revenge killing of Rex.] - And nothing good's come of it. Don't be stupid.

David was pushed into this. He was desperately lashing out in response to someone he thought was a threat to his safety because of tactics his warden had used against him during his first escape attempt. I'm not saying David is blameless or we need or should to condone what he did or encourage him to do it again. But hurting him further now will do nothing but make things worse. What he needs right now is for people to support him. He needs positive influences, people who won't respond to violence with more senseless violence, and people who actually care about him, instead of viewing this as just a job, or thinking he's not redeemable based on what he's done here.

He will not go unpunished, and I seriously hope that Arthas will face consequences as well, but let that be handled by the appropriate people.

[Private to Bourne]

I'm including you in this. We both know the last time David hurt you, your judgment was clouded and you caused him serious psychological trauma. If you're feeling similarly emotionally compromised? Find someone else to do it. Not you, not Claire. Some other warden.

[And full on Batgrowl. Low, intimidating, controlled, the kind of voice that makes people crap their pants, regardless of their training or background.] And if I hear one word about you doing anything to hurt him further? David flipping out again is going to be the least of your problems.

I know it's kind of ridiculous to try to look for a point to any of this? But I still think it if we were going to be able to be contacted by people not on the Barge, it would have been more handy to let us pick who we could contact. And when to contact them in the timeline.

I hate time travel.

[Private to Costigan]

I saw you talking with Sullivan. How are you doing?

[Private to Hayley]

So, I met your Harvey.

[Private to Bruce; added a little later]

You told Crane?

[Warden Filter]

So, in light of Amanda's most recent network post, and some of the stuff Hoffman said to me while he was in the infirmary, I think it might be a good idea for someone to go through his room and make sure he doesn't have anything dangerous stored in there that we don't know about. There's some really bad blood between these two, and I'm pretty sure no one but the two of them really wants them to just keep killing each other every week.

I'd be happy to look through Hoffman's room myself, but if anyone's got particularly strong feelings about wanting to help, I wouldn't say no to an extra pair of hands.

And speaking of weapons and all that, does anyone actually know how she got her hands on the knife in the first place? I know she's unassigned, but I thought people were trying to keep an eye on that, all things considered.

[Private to Ariadne]

Did you ever find out where she got the knife?

For not being necessarily directly involved in what had happened outside of being friends with the victim and having information that - in his mind, anyway - might have been able to stop this from happening if he hadn't been stupid, Dick was not dealing with the current situation on the Barge as well as he could be. While it was true that he wasn't totally out of control or anything, just pretending like everything was fine was getting hard, especially when Costigan was apparently still willing to chat with the guy who'd brutally murdered someone Dick was friends with.

He didn't get what the inmate wanted or what hoping to achieve, and when Costigan had suggested they talk about it not on the network, he had two options. Run off to the CES or the gym or something to try and distract himself from his continued frustration so he wouldn't end up snapping at the inmate, or to just directly go to the inmate's room and hope he could keep himself in control.

Maybe foolishly, he'd decided it was a higher priority to get this conversation over with, so he headed down to the former undercover's room and knocked on the door, pacing slightly as he waited for him to answer it, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets, clearly visibly frustrated and maybe a little anxious. It had been easier when he'd been sparring with Steph, because at least he'd had something to do with his pent up energy.

[Dick is a little out of breath and looks a little worked over, although not actually that hurt aside from a gash on his temple. He's ducked behind a wall trying to make the recording as fast as possible before his pursuers catch up to him, which... should be interesting. Thankfully he knows his way around by this point, and you know. He''s good at this kind of thing.]

So I'm on the run. From Aztec warriors. Who are apparently trying to haul me off to Zero. And didn't really take kindly to me saying I wasn't interested.

Just as a head's up to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of running into them yet, these guys know how to fight and they're - [There's a pause as he takes out another warrior coming down the hallway, knocking him backwards into his fellows before continuing his run down the hallway, still making the recording.]

Pretty damn stubborn. I wouldn't recommend resisting unless you've got a black belt in something. They're definitely not afraid to rough you up a little first.

[Private to Tim]

[Please don't be possessed, please don't be possessed, please don't be possessed...]

Just out of curiosity, how much of your gear do you have on you?

And Wally's been possessed. I'm not sure if he's still got access to the Speed Force, but he implied that he did. Don't try and engage him if you see him.

Oh, and we still need to have that talk.

[Yes. He is being 100% serious.]

[Private to Chuck]

Pretty sure I figured out what the guys with clubs are here for.

[Private to Steph & Hayley]

Are you okay? Where are you?
