[So Dick was in a coma for that whole fiasco, and he woke up to something awesome!

And by awesome I mean fucking terrible.

So he will be focusing on that and not where the hell he's been for the last week or so.]

Tim's gone.

[And that's all he has to say on the subject.]

So, in lighter news, Rorschach's graduated. I would have made an announcement earlier, but I was a little held up. [Completely freaking out and hallucinating. :V

He continues, trying to be a little teasing, because he's actually super proud of him and doesn't want this to turn into some kind of horrible ASKJFG RICHARD WHY >C thing.]

I'd say everyone should tell him congratulations, but I'm pretty sure that would just embarrass him.

[Warden Filter]

Who's investigating what happened?

[Filtered to Tim, Steph and Babs]

Are you guys okay?

[Private to Bruce]

[Dick hesitates for a few seconds before speaking, because lol. lol.]

... I need to ask a favor.

[Dick looks a tiny bit in shock when he turns on the video feed and slowly holds up this enthusiastically patterned sweater for everyone to see.]

This is the third hideous sweater I've gotten from the Admiral since I got here. [Two years, Three Christmases. It's depressing. :|

He doesn't have much more to say besides that and reaches over to click off the camera.]

[Private to Tim]

I guess I should take the fact that there haven't been any reports of you or Jan winding up in the infirmary as a good thing?

[Private to Sara]

Are you ready for the next chapter in the "Awkward Ways in Which Sara is Introduced to Dick's Psychotic Family" saga?

[Private to Dean]

Any luck with Buffy?

[Warden Filter]

[Dick's gone back and forth on saying something public about this, because while he's still kind of freaking out about this and knows this isn't his Bruce, he still feels weird basically siding with the other wardens/the good of the Barge instead of him. This wasn't exactly the father/son reunion he was expecting. :c] That isn't the Bruce Wayne from our world. If he says anything to anyone that gives you reason to be concerned, I want to know about it immediately.

[This is legitimate, okay, he's already talking about staging an escape attempt. B(]

[Filtered to the DC Cast]

I need you to tell me everything he told you. [This is an order, not a suggestion. :|]

[Private to Dean]

...

[Private to Sara]

...

[He was going to message you both, but he really doesn't know what he wants to say, and there's a pressing issue he needs to deal with right now.]

[Spam for Tim]

[Dick isn't honestly sure how he's processing all of this. He's angry, he's frustrated, he feels like he's running on adrenaline but doesn't have anything to do with it, which means he's been pacing and kind of shaky the entire time he's been talking to Bruce. It's stupid, he knows it's stupid to get this worked up over the Barge throwing something like this at him, and really, with all the different realities out there, he probably should have been anticipating it. But that doesn't make it any easier to deal with, and it doesn't change the fact that he's seen what that kind of psychotic break does to someone like them, and he's never really actually... dealt with the fact that he'd been killed by someone with a pretty similar mindset.

At least this time, the crazy murderous Batman apparently wasn't planning on holding a gun on him any time soon.

Which is actually the more pressing issue he needs to deal with right now, so, message composed and posted, Dick tosses his comm down and head out of his room down the hallway and knocks at Tim's door impatiently.]

It's me.

So I figure by now, everyone's calmed down and realized we're not in any imminent danger here, so I have a question. Does anyone else - of the kids on board, I mean - remember this place at all? I feel like I've been here before, but a long time ago, or like I had a dream about it or something.

It wasn't all decked out for Halloween last time, though. I'm not sure if I should be weirded out by it or not. Halloween in Gotham's usually a fiasco.

[Private to Tim]

Do you need help dealing with anyone? [He saw you talking to that very angry scary girl and vaguely remembers you/has a sense you're to be trusted, so. B(] Also, I could maybe stand to borrow a sweatshirt or something, if you don't mind. Everything in my room's like, six sizes too big.

[Spam for Sara, backdated to after this log.]

[After dragging himself to the infirmary and getting patched up, Dick had been pretty insistent that he just wanted to go back to his room and sleep it off there rather than being held hostage in the infirmary. So, with doctor's approval, he limped down the hall and, instead of taking the stairs up to the first floor, went right to Sara's room and knocked on the door, too tired to care if anyone else was walking through the hall and wondering why the hell he was wearing blue hospital scrubs with a Batman uniform mostly tucked under one arm, the cape trailing on the floor, and looking like he'd had the crap beaten out of him.

He was holding the boots and cowl in his good hand - the other was in a cast that hopefully wouldn't have to be on too long between magic and the tech they had on board - and after he'd knocked, he carefully moved to prop himself up against the wall to hopefully prevent falling on his ass. Getting up again from that really just sounded awful.]

[Private to Tim]

I just got my ass handed to me by Superboy, so I'm going to be passed out at Sara's for a while. But if you need me for anything, give me a ring.

[Private to Rorschach]

I'm going to be sleeping off a broken wrist and some busted ribs for the next ten or so hours, so feel free to ask Tim if you need anything in the mean time.

[Private to Cass]

[After they've both had some time to recuperate, Dick is realizing they probably need to have a discussion about the whole "Why I was wearing Dad's pajamas" thing.]

We should talk.

[Private to Babs]

I'm guessing you got an update on what happened.

[Spam for Erik]

[Most people would probably think he was a complete idiot for not kicking back and taking it easy after almost getting killed by an out of control alien, but Dick didn't really do downtime and usually started getting a little stir crazy after he'd gotten over the initial period of I just want to sleep for a week and pretend I never have to get out of bed again.

Which was why the day after it had happened, he was up and about as usual, and currently mentally swearing a little over having to balance his lunch tray with one hand. The other was in a cast in a sling to help keep it out of the way, and his ribs still hurt like hell, but it could have gone a lot worse, really, so he pushed aside the discomfort and looked around for somewhere to sit.

He spotted Erik by himself, and - potentially against his better judgment, because it wasn't like you could really just walk up to someone and ask how they were doing because their breach counterpart had really reminded you of your old inmate - he headed over to him and gestured at the seat across from him. Or, you know, as best he could while holding a lunch tray in one arm with his other in a sling.]

Do you mind if I sit here?

[Dick's sounding considerably more cheerful than he has over the last couple days, if only because he has an evil plan and doing nice things for other people usually works pretty well in terms of yanking him out of pits of depression.]

So today's is Tim's birthday, I'm throwing him a surprise party, and you're all invited. Meet at my room after dinner, and don't tell him anything. [Or else.]

[Private to Claudia]

Hey. I know you're kind of in a rough place, so no pressure if you're not feeling up to it, but we'd love to have you there.

[Private to Rorschach]

I know this isn't really your thing, but it's Tim's birthday and I'm throwing him a party. I'm just inviting a couple people, so it's not a huge get together or anything, so if you want to make an appearance, I'd be happy to see you there.

[Spam for Tim]

[At some point while Tim was out of his room, someone - cough - has broken into your room and put red, green, black and yellow streamers everywhere. Everywhere. Enough that it almost looks like someone was trying to host a high school dance or something in your apartment. There are also a couple matching balloons.

Oh also there was a note taped to your door in very nondescript handwriting that said "You forgot something, didn't you?" because it's just not a surprise birthday without leaving vaguely incriminating notes taped to people's doors.]

[ooc: If people are interested in doing a log or something, I can throw it together, or we can just assume a fun time was had by all. Whatever works best for everyone. c:]

[Dick's been pretty radio silent outside of his circle of close friends for a while now. He's been brooding and collecting himself together since Gotham port, spending time patching up the Batsuit and re-equipping it because something tells him he'll probably wind up needing it again sooner rather than later.

The only reason he's really making a post now is it's Father's Day, and he feels like he just needs to say something about Bruce, however tangentially, even if he plans on remembering John Grayson privately, because that's just a minefield of angst he doesn't need other people poking at.]

You know, I've said it before, I'm sure I'll say it again, and I'm sure most of you don't really care or won't agree with me, but I really don't resent the life I ended up with. I got so lucky to have things happen the way they did, because someone cared enough about some orphaned kid to take me in, and stuff like that flood - no matter how bad it actually was - usually makes me realize we should all probably acknowledge it more. No matter how bad things get, there's always ways things could have been worse.

Not that I really needed this place to rub that in any more than it already has, but I guess it can't really be helped.

[Private to Tim]

[Dick clicks on the video for this, so that mid way through the sentence, he can dramatically hold up the picture Superboy drew him of Tim's reboot costume.]

Also, you're never allowed to judge me about my fashion choices ever again. [C:]

So, I know everything's been more or less said and done about that flood, but honestly? I'm still just kind of shocked that for once, I was a kid and came out of it pretty trauma free. [Hell, even if he had actually been mentally fourteen again, things would have been fine. He might have had a weird childhood, but there were good parts of it, and fourteen had definitely been before shit had really hit the fan.

A pause, and then:]

[Somewhat reluctant generous Friends Filter. If you think you're on it, you are.]

Actually, as long as I'm being honest? It helped me realize some things.

I've realized I've spent most of my time here kind of terrified of what was waiting for me back home, and I won't lie, I'm still kind of scared about some of it. I know it all works out okay, now, but there's really no guarantee if I ever leave here I'll remember what I've been told here - [His money is going on that he won't remember, honestly, otherwise things would have gone veryyyy differently. :|] - And I've already lost two parents. I don't need to go through losing another, even if it's going to turn out he was fine. Just... time displaced, or something, so we all just thought he was dead for months.

[A pause. Because, really comic book logic?]

I'm still really not sure how that happened.

But it's going to happen whether or not I want it to, because as much as I might want to? I'm not drastically altering the futures of people I love who say they're happy with how everything worked out in the end, and sitting here pretending like it isn't going to happen is really ridiculous. And something about that flood made me realize maybe this really isn't so bad. There are a lot worse things that could have happened, and I can't hide here forever. And I don't want to anymore.

This isn't a I've had enough, I'm leaving announcement or anything. I've still got a lot of stuff I need to get done here before I seriously think about shipping out for good. But it's nice to not be afraid anymore. Or, to be afraid, but accept that and move forward instead of worrying about it, because everything is going to be okay.

... Kind of embarrassing that it took me a year to figure this out, but, I guess that's better than nothing.

[ooc: And again, comment over on DW here.]

[Dick clicks on the camera, and he, too, is proudly wearing a new red and green Christmas sweater. He's also considerably shorter and younger looking than usual, but does not seem all that confused or bothered by what's going on.]

Tim, this is so cool, you have to come see this! [He holds up two Batman action figures, complete with awesome grappling hook accessories and things to play fight with because action figures are excellent like that. One is of Bruce as Batman and the other - little does Dick actually know - is the uniform he'll be wearing as Batman, which is subtly different from what he's used to Bruce wearing.]

I didn't even know they made stuff like this! [Or if they did, it wasn't really accurate, since the Gotham vigilantes tend to stay out of the limelight and therefore usually any "Batman" stuff produced was kind of majorly lacking compared to this stuff.]

I don't know why there are two Batmans, though. I mean, the costume's a little different on this one, but it doesn't look like what he wears. [Added quickly:] I think. [Since he's never seen Batman before right. :V]

... Hey, Rorschach are you okay? Let me know where you are. [And if you're affected. :c

AND OH MY GOD BEST IDEA EVER:]
Jim, do you still have your action figures? [Don't judge me I might kind of want to play with them. :c]

And for anyone who's not sure where you are, everything's going to be fine. If you need anything, let someone know and one of us will help you, I promise.

[ooc: Dick is going to be basically acting like his fourteen year old self, but remembers the Barge and knows there's a flood going on and he's affected. Despite the icons, he is not dressed in the Robin suit, I just love the art from Year One and had to use them instead of pb icons. :c]

[Dick sounds pretty unruffled and maybe even flippant to the casual observer, but he's actually pretty creeped. No one enjoys catching a weird person staring at them out of the corner of their eye and then just not being there when you turn to look at them.]

So, I know "the Barge is taking a turn for the creepy" is old news at this point, but... is anyone else starting to feel like someone's following them around? I know it probably just sounds paranoid, but with everything else going on, it just seems... weird. Tim, if it's you, I said I was sorry I stole your sandwich, this is taking it a bit far.

Anyway. Is anyone up for sparring? CES, gym, somewhere else, where ever. [He's bored and feeling like he's getting out of practice.]

[Warden Filter]

Literally forever ago, there was some talking about giving some self defense lessons to wardens who felt like they needed some brushing up or an intro on how to protect themselves in the event of our next Barge wide crisis situation, which is probably happening next week or something if this creepy stuff keeps up, so I'll be in the gym this afternoon and will be happy to walk you through some basic stuff.

Or, if there's anyone who just wants to spar or something, I am definitely on board for that, too.

What's the worst thing that could happen if I got hit with a phaser on a stun setting?

That wasn't that bad. I mean, I know not being able to swear and cause too much havoc might have been annoying for some of us, but we complain enough about ports where monsters are trying to eat us and floods that leave everyone psychologically damaged and/or death tolling. If I've got to choose between not being able to swear, or psychological trauma? I'm pretty much always going to go with the former.

[And added later, after the private messages, in a considerably more 'fuck everything' tone of voice:]

[Warden Filter, David + Costigan & Inmates who are known causalities.]

Earlier this morning, David Harris went on a rampage, while affected by Death Knight abilities apparently granted by Arthas Menethil. His specific goal was to attack his warden, Jason Bourne, but while affected attacked and injured several others.

His known victims are:
- Slade Wilson - Alive (?), frozen solid.
- Dallas Winston - Killed, assaulted.
- Rex Lewis - Alive, assaulted,
- Zuko - Alive (?), frozen solid.
- Vanessa VanCleef - Alive, assaulted.
- Claire Bennet - Alive, assaulted, was incapacitated by ice.
- Jason Bourne - Alive, assaulted.

Tim Drake and I intervened when we heard a disturbance in the dining hall. David had his warden, Jason Bourne, pinned up against a wall by the throat, and didn't recognize us initially. After talking him down, he gave up the powers himself, without being forced to, and stopped his attack. Tim's taken David down to Zero.

Does anyone actually have status reports on the people he attacked, or more information about people who might have been injured? People who were hurt, a sound off would definitely be appreciated, if you're up to it. If not, I need some help trying to figure out where they are and how much immediate medical attention they'll need.

[Same Filter, but minus David.]

[There's a short pause. When Dick speaks again, it's definitely not in the voice of the usually good natured, friendly twenty something guy he usually presents himself as. It's harder, more intimidating and has serious overtones of Batman in it.]

I just want to make it explicitly clear that anyone who attempts revenge for what happened is going to have me and Tim to deal with. We've had issues in the past with people taking revenge after incidents like this - [The largest one he's got in mind, of course, is Perry's revenge killing of Rex.] - And nothing good's come of it. Don't be stupid.

David was pushed into this. He was desperately lashing out in response to someone he thought was a threat to his safety because of tactics his warden had used against him during his first escape attempt. I'm not saying David is blameless or we need or should to condone what he did or encourage him to do it again. But hurting him further now will do nothing but make things worse. What he needs right now is for people to support him. He needs positive influences, people who won't respond to violence with more senseless violence, and people who actually care about him, instead of viewing this as just a job, or thinking he's not redeemable based on what he's done here.

He will not go unpunished, and I seriously hope that Arthas will face consequences as well, but let that be handled by the appropriate people.

[Private to Bourne]

I'm including you in this. We both know the last time David hurt you, your judgment was clouded and you caused him serious psychological trauma. If you're feeling similarly emotionally compromised? Find someone else to do it. Not you, not Claire. Some other warden.

[And full on Batgrowl. Low, intimidating, controlled, the kind of voice that makes people crap their pants, regardless of their training or background.] And if I hear one word about you doing anything to hurt him further? David flipping out again is going to be the least of your problems.
