[Dick hasn't wandered too, too far from the ship yet. He's getting his bearings, and it's still early on in port, before it's safe to return to the ship. In the background of the video, you can probably make out some of the wrecked buildings, and while Dick in in civvies, he's got a backpack slung over one shoulder with the Nightwing suit in it.]

Nice of the Admiral to pick another awesome vacation destination to crash the ship for repairs. You'd think there should be an outpost or something we can dock at for a while, rather than just hitting the brakes too hard and ending up here. Wherever... here is. [Have you guys seen the sky? There is no way we're not all coming out of this without some respiratory problems. :|]

I bet we lost people in the landing, too. Obviously we have no idea what this world is actually going to be like, and maybe we'll get lucky and have a quiet weekend for once, but use caution if you're heading out away from the ship, and I think we should do a roll call to see who's missing so we can start thinking about getting them back in one piece.

[Which brings him to the issue that's been nagging at him since port was announced.]

Has anyone seen Tim?

[ooc: Feel free to spam him! He's maybe half a mile out from the ship at this point, and will be doing sneaky Bat things to try and find out more about what happened here. Once the Vanquish start rolling in, he's going to be suiting up and heading off to find Tim and get him out of here, but is otherwise very open for plotting and shenanigans.]

[~~Too lazy for icons but~~ Sara has obviously gone native. She's in what looks like some kind of maintenance tunnel; her clothes are dusty, patched and battered-looking. Her exposed arms, neck and face are scattered with scars and the Witchblade apparently didn't show up for work today. Her voice is low but serious and urgent.]

Your ship?

[A beat.]

'An outpost or something' - you don't know even know where you are. Which fleet are you from?

[Dick looks a little taken aback at first, because dammit he was hoping you were trying to corral Loki or something, but quickly pushes it aside.]

We're sort of... independently run. [Maybe. Sort of. God this was never fun.] And our navigation system's pretty shot. Where are we?

Before the Vanquish showed up our colony code was --

[She just cuts herself off with a frustrated noise.]

Doesn't matter, fleet probably struck us off the records before you were even born. You're at the ass end of nowhere. 'Independently run' - Jesus, what are you, scavengers? A tourist craft? Do you have shields, optic camoflage, weapons, anything?

Shields and optic camouflage were both damaged in the crash, we've got weapons. We're working on getting things put back together as fast as possible. We're not tourists. [And let's just hope no one contradicts this later.]

Who are the Vanquish?

These ruins are fantastic, Dick. They look human, as far as I can tell, but it's tough to pinpoint how old they are. [So yeah in case you were wondering, Ariadne is her same old self.]

They're not our version of modern, I can tell you that much. [He's been to enough alien worlds and versions of Earth's future that he felt pretty confident in the assessment.] Is someone with you?

How can you not know? They've been attacking colonies since -

[But then a pause. Because they've been running this planet almost as long as she's been alive, and probably longer than Dick has, and if he doesn't know who they are then maybe this means that isolated seized colonies like this one are their only remaining holdouts. Which....still sucks for them, but excellent news on a universal level.]

They're a collective of alien races who attack terraformed colonies for their mineral resources. If you're not here specifically to deal with them, let me just tell you right now: you are outgunned and outnumbered. Either stay with your ship and get your systems back online, or hide. How many are you?

Yeah it's weird, I mean there are things I recognize, that are definitely like Earth architecture, but the whole thing is this kind of amalgamation that doesn't make much sense from where I'm sitting.

[She offers him a little smile.] Don't worry, there's a group of us out here.

[He doesn't like seeing his name pop up in unfamiliar mouths. It means people are talking about him, and talking means he's known. He doesn't really like being known. Safer when you're anonymous.]

Who wants to know?

That definitely could have gone better. You haven't seen him?

Not since before we crashed. Have you noticed anyone else missing?

About a hundred, give or take. [And that was the estimate without people who currently thought they'd lived their whole lives here, and jfc this place is just sounding better and better.]

I'll try to let people know to stay close, but I'm not leaving until I figure out what happened to my brother. Once the ship's been repaired, [If it gets repaired, but he's not leaving you behind here to get killed either.] we can take anyone who wants to get off planet with us.

I haven't seen Buffy since the crash. I'm still looking around, though.

It's an alien planet, and the society's more advanced than ours. I'd imagine that's the simple explanation.

Have you noticed anyone missing?

[Well, this is exactly what he was afraid of. And he's not really sure how to explain or tell him to get the hell back near the Barge, so he's slapping up a private filter and trying to wing it.]

Dick Grayson. You don't know me?

Can't say I have. Which makes me pretty wary, given you know my name.

Keep me updated. I don't know how bad this is going to be, but I'd like to have a good idea of who's available to help out if things get worse.

Everyone wants to get off planet. Unless you have capacity for an extra few thousand, do not promise that. Take care of your own people.

[Barbara has nothing but civvies, but at least they're tight and black, a hood covering her hair. A pack of basic supplies is slung over her shoulder.

She's kneeling down, hands tracing faded markings on scoured stone. She doesn't look into the device, apparently set on something nearby, as she speaks.]

It doesn't surprise me, somehow, that this isn't the first time.

[Then she glances at it, at Dick, her brow furrowing just slightly.]

And no, I haven't.

Based on the lack of credit cards, I guess that it's not going to be a walk in the park. I'll look for Buffy, you look for Tim?

[Dick's curious, but also trying to focus on the business end of things, because curiosity about this world and what had happened here could wait until he knew everyone was safe. Safer. As safe as they were going to get in a scenario like this.]

Let me know if you do, alright? Or if you run into anyone who doesn't remember what the Barge is, this place is sounding less and less friendly the more I hear about it.

Sounds good. Be careful.

Don't be, I'm a friend. Once we get our ship repaired, we're getting the hell off this planet. We've got food and medical supplies, and we're more than willing to share them with people who need it.

[Barbara is, frankly, just thrilled to be off that goddamned boat - but she won't let that cloud her judgement. She hasn't let her guard down yet and she doesn't intend to.]

I will. [She means it; she may not care to bond with her fellow passengers, but that doesn't mean she wants to see them harmed.]

What have you found out? [A slight nod to the ruins.] Aspects of the architecture are familiar, but I can't pinpoint a specific era or culture. I do think humans were involved somehow.

[This is, oddly enough, the most relaxed Barbara has ever been.]

We'll be fine. And the sooner we get out of here, the sooner we can tell other people to drop by and bail the rest of you out. [He knows he's lying, and there's a part of him - the part that had wanted to stay in the other Gotham - that aches with the knowledge that he can't do much good here. The best he can try is to keep the people on the Barge safe, and he's not going to take no for an answer.]

We have the capacity to help people here, and I'm not walking away from that just because we can't evacuate everyone immediately.
