I think everything that needs to get said about the breach has been pretty well covered, and while I'm not really complaining about getting to say I've officially sort of lived through that part of history? I'm definitely not complaining about this not being a once a month thing.

"I know." [Pause.] "But... I mean, he didn't want to kill either of them? But he didn't have an issue with using guns, he definitely wasn't afraid of seriously injuring either of them, and I- I kind of didn't..." [He sighs in frustration, trying to figure out how to explain this.]

"We don't use guns, and we don't use lethal force. The guns is more of a Bruce thing, because of his parents, and I used one while I was a cop when I had to, but I've never liked doing it. I'm comfortable with them, but I prefer not to use them, even when I was a cop, and the fact that I was totally comfortable just pointing the gun at a person and pulling the trigger was weird."

"Hang on a second." [This calls for shots. So Kirk went to get a couple and maybe he used the time to think about how to approach that. Because he didn't have a problem with shooting someone, not if it meant saving lives and maybe if he was pissed off enough.]

"Drink that, I'm shit at advice. So you're warned. But maybe they deserved to be a shot, just a little."

[Dick set the beer aside and managed a weak smile. He didn't really need advice so much as he just needed someone to talk to, and he didn't really know how to admit his counterpart had been okay with shooting people in detail to someone like Bruce or Wally.] "Thanks."

[He knocked the shot back, grimaced and set the glass back down, staying quiet for a moment before continuing.] "That's the thing. Sure, maybe Hoffman did- does, even. But I'm not supposed to think like that. I shouldn't want to shoot people, and I don't. But having all these memories of him being okay with it has just been sort of... hard to process."

"I imagine that's why you wanted to get hammered." [Said dryly, right before he takes his own shot.] "Which is not going to help in the long run but I'm not one to tell someone to not drink."

"I don't usually do this kind of thing. I'm not even really a social drinker, but..." [Shrugggg.] "First breach, seemed like a special occasion."

"Lucky for you I'm basically a functioning alcoholic. [That was sort of a lie now, as he'd moved away from it the older he got.] "I'll try to refrain from making you take your pants off and dance."

"What about me telling everyone about how sex is like a doorway?"

"Yeah, I can't stop that trainwreck. You're on your own then."

"Let's hope that was a once in a lifetime thing."

"I'll drink to that." [Cheers him, damnit.] "Is shooting Hoffman the only thing about him that bugs you?"

[Cheers indeed and yikes he can already kind of feel shot number one kicking in.] "How much time do you have?"

[Damn, this is going to be interesting.] "I'd say probably all night, barring emergencies or you passing out."

"I'm not gonna pass out." [Probably. >>;]

"Then let's do another shot."

"Don't you want to hear about Hoffman?"

"After the shot I do. I thought you wanted to get drunk."

"Fine." [Which is actually getting a laugh out of him before he takes the shot.] "Satisfied?"

[Kirk downs his as well, with practiced ease.] "Yeah, I guess."

"Hoffman's pretty consistently since he showed up been trying to convince me that it'd take very, very little to get me to snap and be just like him, and loves lecturing me about police procedure and how what he did was justifiable because the people he murdered didn't matter. They either deserved to die, or they're just causalities of some greater cause that suits him, whereas the way I see it? Murder is murder is murder, and 'mowing down' you're entire precinct is not justifiable, no matter how rotten or dirty the cops in it are, and frankly, considering his standards and the stories he's told me, he was just as bad while he was actually a cop as when he turned vigilante sociopath. He's a whiny, violent, attention seeking murderer who likes hurting people who 'get in his way'. He keeps complaining about how he still doesn't deserve to be here, or he's not really a bad guy, but then he's talking about killing all of us and wanting to 'play games' with people he doesn't like, and then when people get upset about it, he blames the rest of us for not understanding him, since what he's been through which clearly absolves him from the stuff he's done, because god knows the rest of us can't possibly understand what it's like to lose people we love or watch the legal system fail, so we have no right to tell him what the appropriate reaction to that sort of thing is. Oh, and he tried to murder Steph."

[And another shot.] "I'm getting tired of having these conversations with him."

[Kirk was maybe a little surprised by the sheer amount of words that came out of Dick's mouth right then.]

"Have you thought about just ignoring him? Bratty kids whine to get attention, a lot of the Inmates aren't much better."

[He's chatty, it's part of his charm. :c]

"I'm supposed to believe in 'redemption for everyone'-" [Those airquotes are a little wobbly.] "And if I just don't talk to him, I can't really have a good read on what he's up to." [Thinkthink LIGHTBULB.] "I should probably just autofilter my posts from him."

"There's an idea." [Kirk tipped his beer at him.. and there was no wobble.] "He's not your responsibility either, you know."

[Why so good at holding liquor, Kirk. ...owait.] "I know. He's just... really been tangled up in my life here, sometimes."

"Is he really or are you just letting him get there because you have a strange sense of honor and guilt?"

"I didn't tell Steph to make friends with him for a while."
