So, I guess I should probably get around to introducing myself or something. I'm Dick, and I'm a new warden around here. Seems like an... interesting place so far.

... Sooooo, does anyone know when I'm actually supposed to get assigned an inmate to keep an eye on?

Wardens will offer support for a time, then become distracted with their own lives. They have a network, private communications that help to keep people in the loop. Sometimes it's interesting, sometimes it's dull. Other than that, you'll be more on your own once you're familiar enough to lose the shine of being new.

The inmates will usually offer help in order to manipulate you. Iago and Shego may be included in those. I would be, if you weren't a friend of Tim's. Be careful if you make any deals with the inmates.

For a while. How much has he told you about back home?

Don't worry, I've been doing this kind of thing long enough to know how to keep an eye on myself.

A lot. He never gave me your name, but he told me about you. About Bruce. The training, his death. About his father-- before Bruce. About the Teen Titans. About some of the people he's killed, some of the girls he's dated.

I expect you're the same as Tim is, or close. So you might be willing to make the same deal..

[People he's killed gets an eyebrow raise from Dick, but he was pretty much expecting the rest of it.] I see.

"Close" is probably a safer bet.

Enough to play a game? Two questions. Each of us gets to ask two questions to the other and he has to answer with complete honesty. Any time.

Tomorrow. How would you feel about a sparring match? We can ask Tim, if you don't trust me. I do have a key to his room, though, and have read his private filters at times. He has to have some trust in me.

That depends on whether you want to allow my abilities or not.

Generally? No. I've never had any "training," like the Boy Wonders.

Guess that would depend on what they are. If you're gonna squish me in ten seconds I might have to protest a little.

Only at full strength. Here, all inmates' abilities are reduced. Shapeshifting, ice manipulation, accelerated regeneration, induced kinetic energy, induced radioactive energy, telekinesis.. It's not as much as it seems. Without any, I'll lose in ten seconds. With them all? You'll probably still win.

That's an impressive set.

But it's your call. As I'm sure you're aware, it's not like I haven't fought metas before.

It's only sparring. Besides, maybe you could help me.

Anything specific you need help with, or just general 'figuring out how not to get your ass kicked in case your powers ever totally short out'?

Help fighting better if I'm without my abilities.
