[Dick has been very much keeping to himself since Gotham port, both on the network and in person. He looks kind of resigned when he clicks on the video feed, but tries to force a believable smile anyway.]

The short version is Tim and I are working on an interdimensional prison ship for a while to try and fix some stuff. The timestream works differently here so you won't have noticed we're gone until we're home already. We pit stopped in another Gotham for a few days and things got... rough.

Bad. You were gone, as well as most of the other people we count on in that kind of situation. Everyone [+ I :|] thought you were dead. The Joker killed most of the police force and it was basically a warzone. We tried to get things under control as best we could, a lot of the people here were incredibly helpful. Tim synthesized a cure for a really dangerous street drug the Joker had been using on basically anyone he could get his hands on and I [He kind of can't bring himself to say he was Batman for a while because the whole THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD thing is still kind of weighing on him.] filled in for you in the mean time.

You came back right before we got pulled back to the ship. I'd hope our counterparts are on their way back, too, but-

I haven't been home for a year and a half and seeing it like that after everything was... hard.
