No, I guess I just don't get where the opinion's coming from.

Enough senseless deaths. Enough situations that could have been prevented. Should have been.

Don't need to watch children laughing to know why we do this. Proof enough in newspapers. On five o'clock news.

But isn't it nice to get some first hand confirmation that there's still good stuff out there, even after everything we've seen? You of all people should know how attached the media is to the darker stuff. It's not like they tend to talk about the positives. And I've always considered them to be just as important when it comes to motivation and putting on the mask every night.

People manage to find bright spots even in darkness. Find a way to spin it, to be happy. Reason to wake up in the morning, to go to work, to smile. Human nature; would find a reason to rejoice even as world crumbles around them. Way we're made. Want to be happy even if utterly terrified. Easier to delude themselves than accept unpleasant truths.

You have your motivation. I have mine. [A pause, considering, then:] Appreciate attempt to help, but find it difficult to be motivated by positives when entire world is likely jumping for joy over peace orchestrated by a megalomaniac.
