[Dick is still sorting through all the stuff at his house. He's maybe starting to get a little obsessive about it, and probably would look a little crazy to anyone who wasn't from the Barge, as he's got clues to his fake life sprawled out around him on the floor. Not that you guys can see it, but to any passersby, he looks a little nuts. Or at least like he's getting started on spring cleaning a little early by ripping everything off the shelves.]

Anyone else have some pictures of people from back home around the house? Like, not Barge people? I'm trying to figure out how closely this place parallels our home universes, which obviously isn't all that much, but I'm still curious.

I mean, obviously we're all here, and some of us have pretty developed family units that aren't like our original ones at all, but what about the people we left back home? Do they exist here too, or is this place just populated with strangers and us?

[There's a specific reasoning behind this questioning, but most of you aren't getting any reasons as to why this is suddenly bothering him.]

Okay, when we get back to the Barge, I'm not only giving you escrima lessons, you're telling me all the fun kid stuff you missed out on and we're doing something about it.

[ She laughs. ] I'll see if I can put together a list.

I needed a fun new project anyway.

I don't hardly know where to start. Mostly it's just that my parents never did fun things with me. My mom took me shopping once and I thought maybe aliens had abducted her and replaced her with a drone.

... I think it's pretty safe to say you might win the tragic origin story of Robins fight.

... I mean, yeah it sucks that they aren't around anymore, but Bruce wasn't a god awful parent, and Alfred was around to cover for him, and when my parents were alive, at least they treated me like a kid.

They treated me like a kid! They just never made me milkshakes.

Or took you shopping.

Try my whole life. Trailers suck, I'd go for a ratty apartment any day.

I kinda liked our trailer. The first time I saw my room at the manor, my mind was so blown that my room was bigger then the place I'd grown up in. It felt kinda like the house was going to eat me alive.

Man, I would have loved that. I always liked to run around, even though my dad hated it and yelled at me all the time.

It was kind of cool - you could climb up on some of the chandeliers if you knew what you were doing, much to Alfred's dismay - but the first couple months were really rough. Bruce wasn't really ever around, and living in a basically empty mausoleum to his parents when you were used to a literal circus of surrogate family members and friends was hard. I kind of hated it until Bruce told me "the big secret".

How long did it take him, anyway?

A little less then two months. He took me in in June, told me in July after I snuck out of the house to try and find Tony Zucco.

Two months. That's kind of a long time to live with someone you don't really know.

It's not like I had a lot of other options.

Really, really lonely. It got better when he started letting me train with him, but, you know how Bruce is.
