Okay, so, a flood turned hostile takeover attempt, another sinister plot, a port... now do you think we'll get a little bit of downtime?

I know people had their issues with port, but seriously, at least for the most part, barring a misadventure here or there, most of us got out pretty unscathed. That's got to be worth something on the scale of boring to traumatic.

... And it was kind of fun, being a cop again. Even if there wasn't exactly much chasing down bad guys involved.

I mean, not that I'm saying "sign me up for a universe transfer", but I guess all I'm trying to say is I'll take what I can get.

[Ariadne briefly thought of Arthur. He'd kissed her during the Fischer Inception, but had he meant anything by it? She could hardly read anything from him and yes, she definitely had some romantic feelings for him, but they were nothing compared to Dick. Dick was the complete package. He was incredibly smart, funny, and she felt completely comfortable around him, and safe. Arthur just didn't quite give off that same vibe.]

[She paused, realizing that Dick could definitely have someone here. Maybe Hayley, even. Perhaps that's why the younger girl had made that ultimatum.]

Nah. Just friends. And Tim.

[It was true. While he had a good amount of friends and people from back home, the only person he'd found himself kind of maybe liking that way - or at least maybe heading in that direction - was... well. Sort of walking next to him. And even then, they barely knew each other.]

[She smiled quietly, blush creeping up her cheeks again. Almost subconsciously, she shifted her hand on his arm, just to remind herself that he's not running off.]
