[Warden Filter]

So, in light of Amanda's most recent network post, and some of the stuff Hoffman said to me while he was in the infirmary, I think it might be a good idea for someone to go through his room and make sure he doesn't have anything dangerous stored in there that we don't know about. There's some really bad blood between these two, and I'm pretty sure no one but the two of them really wants them to just keep killing each other every week.

I'd be happy to look through Hoffman's room myself, but if anyone's got particularly strong feelings about wanting to help, I wouldn't say no to an extra pair of hands.

And speaking of weapons and all that, does anyone actually know how she got her hands on the knife in the first place? I know she's unassigned, but I thought people were trying to keep an eye on that, all things considered.

Not that I'm aware of. I'm not even sure if she has allies here or not. Do you know who her old wardens were, or has she always been unassigned?

I just wish someone had their hands on her file, might save us all a lot of trouble.

To be fair. She's content enough in explaining her own crimes to us as it is.

Sure, but there's a difference between what she tells us and what's written on her file. I could tell you I'm actually the president of a small country and I made a deal with the Admiral to protect it from nuclear holocaust, but that doesn't mean you have the full story or get why I'm actually here.

Yeah, if she gets sorted. Just our luck her and Hoffman'll be running around unassigned for months.

Well, no. But, equally, you don't always need a file to do your job. Shouldn't be relying on what you read all the time.

And if that happens? We just demand their files. Fairly sure it can be done.

I'm just saying, in this kind of situation, it's good to have all the facts as soon as possible.

Hoffman should probably get an interim warden too. I know Ariadne's been keeping an eye on Amanda, but just in case he doesn't get paired up, we should probably start thinking about that.

Facts are a bit overrated, sometimes.

I have no idea, I'm not her warden. She was assigned to someone else briefly before the inmate vanished, so I don't know what's going on.

You start focusing too much on the stuff written on paper, and you miss what's happening in front of you. Being here changes folks, even if it's not much, from what they were originally like in their files anyway. And I'd much rather try and figure someone out from dealing with them than by reading up on them like they're a novel.

Eh, it ain't my problem. I'm just saying.

Well obviously actually getting to know people beyond the file's important, but I'm saying you need to keep your bases covered. You can't learn everything just from talking to someone, and you can't learn everything just from reading their file.

Nah, of course not. But I doubt you can know everything about someone else anyway.

Doesn't hurt to try.
