I think everything that needs to get said about the breach has been pretty well covered, and while I'm not really complaining about getting to say I've officially sort of lived through that part of history? I'm definitely not complaining about this not being a once a month thing.

[To the pub! Where Kirk... hasn't actually gone very much in the past few months. But he's concerned about Dick a little right now, so he doesn't even hesitate in heading up there and claiming a table for them.]

[Dick very, very rarely actively tries to get drunk - although actually the last time he did it was also on the Barge and it didn't go super well in terms of helping with anything, so he's notttt really sure where he's going with this - but ho shit he has issues about what happened during this breach and really doesn't know what to do about it since shooting Jason and the whole Hoffman thing is just.

Yeah so he's heading right over for Jim.]

Hey.

"Hey." [Jim pushes one of the two beers he has over to Dick.] "Tell Papa Kirk what's wrong."

[And Dick is happily accepting it, but not actually drinking any yet, just holding it between his hands.] "Do you know Jason Todd and that whole... situation? I can never figure out how much people already know about the comic books and whatever."

"Uh, no. I was too busy being a brat to read comics."

"He was the second Robin. Bruce adopted him after he fired me, but he got killed when he was sixteen. But, apparently, he came back from the dead and now he's sort of a... I don't even know. Gang leader? A vigilante who kills people." [Pause, taking a drink of that beer.] "I shot him during the breach."

"Does Bruce adopt every wayward child he comes across?" [It's a valid question, alright.] "You now the breach wasn't really you, right?"

"No." [Which gets a sort of chuckle. But the second answer is delayed by another sip of the beer.] "I guess. He was pretty damn similar to me."

"Dick, I know you feel guilty for it and responsible and that takes about a year to get over, but you really don't have to answer to anyone for what happened."

"I know." [Pause.] "But... I mean, he didn't want to kill either of them? But he didn't have an issue with using guns, he definitely wasn't afraid of seriously injuring either of them, and I- I kind of didn't..." [He sighs in frustration, trying to figure out how to explain this.]

"We don't use guns, and we don't use lethal force. The guns is more of a Bruce thing, because of his parents, and I used one while I was a cop when I had to, but I've never liked doing it. I'm comfortable with them, but I prefer not to use them, even when I was a cop, and the fact that I was totally comfortable just pointing the gun at a person and pulling the trigger was weird."

"Hang on a second." [This calls for shots. So Kirk went to get a couple and maybe he used the time to think about how to approach that. Because he didn't have a problem with shooting someone, not if it meant saving lives and maybe if he was pissed off enough.]

"Drink that, I'm shit at advice. So you're warned. But maybe they deserved to be a shot, just a little."

[Dick set the beer aside and managed a weak smile. He didn't really need advice so much as he just needed someone to talk to, and he didn't really know how to admit his counterpart had been okay with shooting people in detail to someone like Bruce or Wally.] "Thanks."

[He knocked the shot back, grimaced and set the glass back down, staying quiet for a moment before continuing.] "That's the thing. Sure, maybe Hoffman did- does, even. But I'm not supposed to think like that. I shouldn't want to shoot people, and I don't. But having all these memories of him being okay with it has just been sort of... hard to process."

"I imagine that's why you wanted to get hammered." [Said dryly, right before he takes his own shot.] "Which is not going to help in the long run but I'm not one to tell someone to not drink."

"I don't usually do this kind of thing. I'm not even really a social drinker, but..." [Shrugggg.] "First breach, seemed like a special occasion."

"Lucky for you I'm basically a functioning alcoholic. [That was sort of a lie now, as he'd moved away from it the older he got.] "I'll try to refrain from making you take your pants off and dance."

"What about me telling everyone about how sex is like a doorway?"

"Yeah, I can't stop that trainwreck. You're on your own then."

"Let's hope that was a once in a lifetime thing."

"I'll drink to that." [Cheers him, damnit.] "Is shooting Hoffman the only thing about him that bugs you?"

[Cheers indeed and yikes he can already kind of feel shot number one kicking in.] "How much time do you have?"

[Damn, this is going to be interesting.] "I'd say probably all night, barring emergencies or you passing out."

"I'm not gonna pass out." [Probably. >>;]

"Then let's do another shot."

"Don't you want to hear about Hoffman?"
