So, I guess I should probably get around to introducing myself or something. I'm Dick, and I'm a new warden around here. Seems like an... interesting place so far.

... Sooooo, does anyone know when I'm actually supposed to get assigned an inmate to keep an eye on?

I'm trying to enlighten you as to what to expect. You need to be prepared unless you want to end up among the victims. You'll come back from death, of course, but it's still unpleasant. We wouldn't want that. Any friend of Tim's is a friend of Cissie's and any friend of Cissie's is a friend of mine.

Well, in that case, thanks for the head's up. I definitely don't think I want to test run the revival thing myself.

Look, you were right. My name is Gabriel, but I choose to go by Sylar here. I wasn't lying, though, and I worried.. I worried Tim would warn you about me, like he does for all of his friends. Cissie and Stephanie have seen beyond that. I was hoping you could too.

I'm different. Than what I was before the Barge, even from when he first met me. He's helped me a lot, but sometimes.. I think he has trouble seeing that. He's hard on himself. He worries. He wants to do what's right and to protect his friends; I can't blame him for it. I just don't want to be judged without a fair chance.

Believe me, I get how Tim is. Any judgments I make are gonna be mine, not his, so really don't worry about it.

[Of course, he's still going to be pretty wary internally, but that doesn't mean he can't be friendly with you.]

I've heard he's always been so paranoid. How long have you known him?

Wardens will offer support for a time, then become distracted with their own lives. They have a network, private communications that help to keep people in the loop. Sometimes it's interesting, sometimes it's dull. Other than that, you'll be more on your own once you're familiar enough to lose the shine of being new.

The inmates will usually offer help in order to manipulate you. Iago and Shego may be included in those. I would be, if you weren't a friend of Tim's. Be careful if you make any deals with the inmates.

For a while. How much has he told you about back home?

Don't worry, I've been doing this kind of thing long enough to know how to keep an eye on myself.

A lot. He never gave me your name, but he told me about you. About Bruce. The training, his death. About his father-- before Bruce. About the Teen Titans. About some of the people he's killed, some of the girls he's dated.

I expect you're the same as Tim is, or close. So you might be willing to make the same deal..

[People he's killed gets an eyebrow raise from Dick, but he was pretty much expecting the rest of it.] I see.

"Close" is probably a safer bet.
