I know everyone's already said their pieces about port, but you know? Ones like that really aren't so bad. Aside from the possibility of falling overboard and getting assimilated into the world we're visiting, it's basically just like going to a city you've never been to before. There are places you should avoid, and places that are perfectly safe.

I know we all joke a lot about Gotham being a terrible place to live because it's America's murder capital and Bludhaven wasn't much better, but there are good parts to it too. There are these Cuban meat sandwiches at a place called Ibano's, there's near perfect acoustics at Jonus Theater, I could probably go on forever, and while I'm not really going to recommend it as a vacation spot to anyone soon - because again, murder capital of America - as long as you know what you're doing and are careful about what parts you wander into, you'll probably be okay.

How's everyone handling our week of relative quiet? Anyone up for doing something? Actually having something to do in port kind of spoiled me for a few days.

Well, aside from the old warden coming back, I'm glad things haven't been too bad lately. I'm guessing you mean Wichita?

Not too much interesting. Had a bit of an adventure in port, but things have been kind of quiet besides that.

Yeah. She was my second, after I had a really great guy for the first.

That's good. I'm glad you're doing okay. How's your inmate?

We didn't exactly get off on the right foot.

He's doing pretty good. [All things considered, anyway.] I'd like to think we're making some progress. Capa okay?

I think I'm supposed to say that's too bad, but.. I think you can understand why I won't. What happened?

That's good. Capa seems like he's okay, although I haven't talked to him as much lately. We had a really great time together in port, though, so that has to count for something.

I definitely can. It was nothing big, she caught me on a bad day and decided to give really unsolicited advice-slash-condolences. It was after that last flood, and I wasn't really in the mood for people telling me I was overreacting to suddenly having memories of Bruce telling me to hunt rats or I wouldn't eat right after my parents had been shot to death in front of me.

You know, I've been here for six months now, and I still haven't been to one of those "oh god, I'm never leaving the Barge again" ports. Not that I'm really complaining, but.

She loves giving unsolicited advice and telling you everything you do wrong. [Sulk.]

I'm sure we'll have another one soon. Most of the action seems like it's been happening on the Barge lately. Like, Coyo and the nanognats and everything? But.. I don't know. I think the memories of nearly being strangled are still too fresh for me to look forward to it. [Pause.] Wait-- weren't you there for that desert wasteland place?

Yeah. That wasn't so bad, all things considered. But, my standards might be different from most people's, and again, it's not like I really want one to happen.

I could see your standards being a little different, yeah. I'm sure you'll get one, champ. Whether you want it or not.
