Bruce Wayne has been brought down to Level Zero after trying to attack and kill Poison Ivy. He'll be down there for the full week.

If anyone has any reason to believe anyone else has been threatened or caught his attention for whatever reason, I'd appreciate hearing about it sooner rather than later.

But - Dick, whatever it is, it's hitting him hard.

Which is why I told you not to involve him. [Which definitely has a sort of undertone of why would you think I wouldn't know that. Even with the apparent popularity of their world for Barge candidates, the only constant the two of them had had in the last two years in terms of friends and companionship was each other, which had worked to only solidify their already extremely close bond.]

I told you, this is how things are now. If you're not interested in dealing with it, then I really have no idea what to tell you. Do you think I like thinking like Bruce now? It wasn't like I wanted to, I was miserable for months about what it was going to be like to be Batman in the future because I've spent so much time trying to be a different person, but things happened and I didn't have a lot of choice. That's what this place does to you, it wears you down until you're either closed off and cynical or a drunk, or God forbid, both. You do not get to judge me for how I've been forced to cope being here without a break for two years. [It's not even accusatory, really, although it could have been. He's trying not to totally lose his temper with her.]

Just... trust me to know what I'm doing here, with all of this. Tim and I have been here basically by ourselves for a long time before all of you guys showed up, and we've been through a lot together. I don't care what you thought I was trying to do, all I care about is making sure he doesn't have a complete emotional breakdown, and I think I can pretty safely say he feels pretty much the same way about me.

[Barbara counts to ten. When she speaks, her voice is calm. Carefully so.]

But don't expect me to just accept it when you start acting like Bruce. In case you haven't noticed, I don't tend to put up with his bullshit.
