[Dick looks a tiny bit in shock when he turns on the video feed and slowly holds up this enthusiastically patterned sweater for everyone to see.]

This is the third hideous sweater I've gotten from the Admiral since I got here. [Two years, Three Christmases. It's depressing. :|

He doesn't have much more to say besides that and reaches over to click off the camera.]

Bored out of my mind. Coming up on my two-month 'still no Inmate' anniversary. [She smiles at the kiss, closing the door behind her when she comes inside.] I'm okay.

[Dick does get that and nods as he wanders into the apartment, heading for the nearest couch.] Well, you're always welcome to borrow Rorschach for a while if you want. Maybe he'll learn something about how being a vigilante should work if you're not going to operate by the "no kill" thing I've got going.

[She toes off her shoes near the door and settles into the couch, tucking her legs under her.]

I could always try. With the way things are going, though, I think I might have better luck convincing Tim's cat to get in a bath tub. [Still, he sounds more playfully annoyed than anything else, and he sits down next to her on the couch, draping his arm over the back of it.] So Jason Todd's here.

I thought it might be him. Seems like the Admiral has a thing for your world. [Thanks for keeping an open channel so she could get a name, Steph. But she doesn't know much about Jason other than him being the Robin who was dead and then wasn't, and in lieu of anything much more to say she can just look attentive.]

Apparently. I'd kind of rather he didn't. [For so many reasons, because while it was nice to have some people here, it opened the door for a lot of unpleasantness. He remembered what it had been like when Black Mask had been on board, and he knew if their Joker ever showed up (or that future Tim), he'd leave. No questions asked. And then there were other people, like Blockbuster and Tarantula, and he didn't think he could handle them around, either.

He smiles a little wryly.]

I mean, I signed up for this thinking I'd get to meet interesting new people from all over the place, not ones I see enough of at home.

Or too much of, in some cases. I mean - correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem likely that you guys are going to get along all that well. What happened to him?

The Joker killed him when he was sixteen. It was awful, it's what made this Bruce go crazy - in my world, Tim basically talked our Bruce down from turning into the guy on the Barge. Then about a year ago back home, for me, he turned up again calling himself the Red Hood and basically tried to kill Bruce and the Joker.

I've never really gotten the full explanation. I'm not even sure if Bruce knows what really happened. [Although he could always ask Jason, but. He'd really rather not do too much interacting with him in general, so long as he's being honest.]

Anyway, he's unstable and angry, and he's tried to kill Tim a few times, so let's just say we're not going to be exchanging Christmas cards this year.

No kidding. [She frowns.] 'Unstable'. You think the Barge can help him?

[Because from what she's seen, the Barge has a tendency to be pretty unkind to those who already have a screw loose.]
