Okay, so, a flood turned hostile takeover attempt, another sinister plot, a port... now do you think we'll get a little bit of downtime?

I know people had their issues with port, but seriously, at least for the most part, barring a misadventure here or there, most of us got out pretty unscathed. That's got to be worth something on the scale of boring to traumatic.

... And it was kind of fun, being a cop again. Even if there wasn't exactly much chasing down bad guys involved.

I mean, not that I'm saying "sign me up for a universe transfer", but I guess all I'm trying to say is I'll take what I can get.

And hey, I think this port's the first time we've ever gotten to hang out that hasn't been interrupted by the Barge trying to collapse around us or something. Clearly a celebration is in order.

[While she definitely didn't know what was going on with his inmate, Ariadne was more than excited to simply enjoy herself. The epic splash war continued as she tried to swim toward the waterfall. That would certainly be more effective than her hands.]

[Dick was once again eying the waterfall as soon as she started getting close to it, still not really thrilled about the idea of getting whacked with some debris coming down from above or something.]

I know I sound like a broken record, but be careful.

[Ariadne gave him a quiet smile, trying to reassure him. She tilted her hands so the waterfall sprayed right down onto them and it deflected off her palms and onto him. Victoryyyyyy.]

[Dick laughed and tried to shield himself with his hands, which was... not an easy job because the water was going pretty much everywhere.] Okay, okay, you win! Uncle!

[Ariadne grinned and moved out from under the waterfall; she'd succeeded in what she'd set out to do.]

It's the quiet ones you need to worry about.

Geez, I guess so.

[He looked over his shoulder back at the shore with their abandoned shoes and his shirt before looking back at her. He sort of really didn't want to head back but... they probably should.]

[Ariadne watched him quietly before she began to swim back to the shore.]

We can go back if you want to.

[Dick thought about it for a moment as he followed her back to shore, weighing his options.]

We should probably dry of a little first.

[It bought him a little more time of taking it easy. He shrugged casually.] And I don't really have anywhere super important to be anyway.

We don't have any towels.

[Ariadne pulled herself onto shore, her blouse sticking to her in every way and, well, that made her just a little uncomfortable.]

[Dick, to his credit, didn't stare or anything, having spent time with people wearing incredibly skin tight and otherwise revealing clothing - Starfire, anyone? - and as such, he just shrugged again as soon as he was on shore, collecting his dry articles of clothing.] Nothing a little sun and fresh air won't fix.

[Ariadne plucked at her blouse, trying to pull it so it wouldn't stick so much to her skin. She carefully reached for her shoes and pulled them against her chest, just to make sure.]

The walk back should help.

[He grabbed his sneakers, socks and shirt, and looked back up at the little rock face they'd had to climb down to get here.]

Hm. Any suggestions on how to get back up there?

[Meaning, barefoot, with their hands full, it was probably going to be a little more of a challenge to climb back up, especially if they were wet.]

[Oh she hadn't even thought of needing to climb back up. She sat down and began tying them back on. They didn't have any rope and were quite wet. Putting her shoes on would definitely help, but she was no climbing expert. She glanced around for anything that could help them in the slightest but came up empty-handed.]

We could wing it.

[Dick considered for a minute and shrugged, grinning.]

Sounds good to me. I'll go first so if you slip, I can hopefully come down and get you.

[He was less sure of his ability to catch her or stop her from falling if he was below her.]

[Ariadne stepped back a little, glancing over at him. Sure, she could clearly see that he had considerable muscle mass, but her own doubts as to whether or not she could get up the cliff kept her from feeling reassured.]

You're the extreme sports enthusiast.

[Dick looked over at her, grinning again.]

You'd rather I try carrying you?

[He was sort of kidding, but it was definitely an option. He'd climbed up less stable structures supporting more weight before, so it was definitely an option.]

[Ariadne raised an eyebrow before shaking her head.]

No. That's not...

[Oh and now she's going a little red in the face. Why are you so awesome, Dick?]

[Dick laughed quietly as he noticed the blush.]

Well, if you're sure...

[Ariadne tilted her head before shaking it again.]

No, I can...

[But being that close to Dick would be just plain awesome, so she slowly moves toward him, trying to calm her furiously beating heart.]

I won't be too heavy?

You're fine. C'mon.

[Dick has done far weirder things with people to get out of a tight situation, so he continued to just appear calm, cool and collected, as per usual. He walked over to the cliff, but paused before crouching down, looking back at her, holding up his clothes.]

You're gonna have to hold my stuff though.

[Ariadne swallowed and followed him over to the cliff, rubbing the side of her neck. Okay this might be the closest she's physically been to a guy, like, ever. Besides her dad. She nodded and took his clothes, trying to find the best place to put them. So, she carefully pulled his shirt over her head, and there was still room to spare, as she was a little on the thin side. She then carefully reached about his shoulders, not quite sure where to hold him.]

[Dick laughed softly as she put the shirt on before turning back to the cliff, trying to chart the easiest path back up to the top before actually starting the climb. Always be prepared.]

Just put your arms around my neck - don't choke me - and your legs around my waist. You'll be fine.

[The words were confident and in his usual not exactly teasing tone, at least a little aware of her slight discomfort over the situation, although he chalked it up more to the fear of falling back down or something then the actual climb up or anything like that.]

[Ariadne nodded and clenched her left wrist with right hand, placing her cheek against his back as she wrapped her legs about his waist. She thought for sure that he could feel her heart beating wildly out of her chest. For all her efforts to calm herself, the architect was failing and so she simply closed her eyes and tried to just enjoy the moment.

Quietly, she whispered against his back:] I know I will be.

[Dick smiled and, confident that she was safe, started making his way back up the cliff face. Going back up was harder then coming down had been, but it was definitely doable, and he'd be lying if he said he said he didn't enjoy the slight challenge it posed. Maybe he should come up here more often to train rather then just going to the gym or something.

Soon enough, they were back at the top of the cliff, and Dick paused to let her get off his back.]

See? Piece of cake.

[Ariadne felt incredibly secure holding onto Dick, as well as a little flustering, considering how she could feel his muscles move under her. When he stopped, she carefully pulled her arms and legs from around him.]

Piece of cake, yeah.
