[There's a second or two of silence before Dick starts speaking, because he is very consciously trying to stop himself from blurting out "Holy _______" statements and adding Bat to the beginning of nouns, and it is quite the uphill battle, unfortunately. His "superpower" is basically adopting Burt Ward Robin's speech patterns TO THE XTREME. :|]

I'm not feeling great. Anyone needs me, I'm gonna be in my Bat-

... I'll be kind of scarce.

[Filtered to people who know THE BIG SECRET. So basically Tim, Steph, Wally, Costigan, Hayley, Spike, etc. Ask if not sure.]

Holy redundant flood, Admiral, this had better only be for a couple days. I'm starting to talk like the Robin from the BatTV Show character flood again and the Batnovelty's already seriously worn off. How's everyone else holding up?

[He let her move his hand away from his face, chuckling quietly again, his own sort of sleepy grin widening as well.]

I'm fine, seriously. It's healing.

Batheadaches really do suck, though.

[Ariadne kept a loose hold on his hand, a casual if not friendly touch. It was truly meant to just keep him from touching his nose anymore.]

How different are they from regular headaches? [she smiled wider at him, not quite catching the sleepy element to his expression.]

[Dick shrugged, not pulling his hand away.]

I'm not sure. I've never had one before.

[Which was... a lie. He definitely had Bat headaches before, if by Bat headaches, you meant headaches brought on by trying to reason with Bruce, which he had definitely had more then enough of back home.]

[Ariadne couldn't help but chuckle quietly at that.]

I hope some tea helps.

Yeah, it's definitely helping.

[And to prove his point, he retrieved his cup and took another sip before settling back onto the couch.]

[Ariadne beamed at him, glad that they could relax some after the crazy of the week.]

What if it was Battea?

I don't really think I want Battea. Sounds kind of horrifying.

You don't want to even try it?

[Ariadne raised an eyebrow, head slightly tilted.]

[He immediately started laughing, squeezing her hand slightly as he drank more of his regular, definitely not Battea.] Not if it's made out of bats.

[At the squeeze to her hand, she glanced away before back to him. Hanging out with Dick made her feel so good and she couldn't quite put a finger on why, but she could analyze that later.]

Battea could be better for sleeping.

[That got her a curious eyebrow raise and a smirk.]

Why would it be better for sleeping?

Bats are nocturnal, aren't they?

[...that's not how it works, Ariadne. Still, her knowledge of science is still in its beginning stages and the details of circadian rhythms are a little beyond that.]

So, boiling them in Batwater and drinking it would make you sleep, even though Bats are known for staying up all night and sleeping during the Batday? I don't think that's how it works.

[Ariadne raised an eyebrow before asking:] Does it have to be Batwater?

You know what I mean.

[Ariadne carefully shifted so she could set down her tea, but kept her hand in his, not wanting to lose that anchor yet.]

Yeah, I do.

[He grinned and returned his mug to the coffee table before once again settling back on the couch.]

So, no more Batelephants, no more Batnotebooks... what now?

[She smiled softly at him.]

If you get too comfortable you'll fall asleep here.

[With her free hand, the architect checked her watch and confirmed how late it was getting. Not that she really had any plans to sleep herself.]

[He shrugged casually, looking around the room with a decidedly neutral expression, still sort of teasing her when he spoke.]

I guess there are worse Batthings I could be doing.

[Ariadne chuckled again.]

Batthings could be worse, but I'm not quite sure what a batthing is.

I'm not really sure either.

[Even though he did, actually, have a batarang in his pocket. He probably should have picked something more inconspicuous as his item, but the thing was handy, reminded him of back home, and definitely wasn't something anyone else on board would have an exact replica of. Even Steph and Tim's weapons would be different.]

[Ariadne carefully pulled her hand away and got to her feet, being careful not to run into the coffee table.]

I have some extra blankets and pillows.

[It hadn't been that uncommon for a project to run late, back when she was actually focused on school, and for someone to need to spend the night. As well, her own boundaries were infinite most days, extending well into others' and had little problem with someone being in her personal space.]

You're sure you don't mind?

[While this was admittedly far from unusual - if a case ran late and he was working with someone like Babs or Donna or Wally or Roy, he definitely wasn't above crashing on a couch if need be - he'd still been raised to be polite, and the one major thing those four had that Ariadne didn't, excluding the superhero/vigilante thing, was that he'd known them since basically forever. Ariadne was a friend, sure, but she was still sort of a stranger, and he didn't want to be intruding on her space if she didn't want him to be.]

I don't mind at all.

[And as proof, she quietly quilted comforter and a gray pillow from her bedroom.]

And you can request that change in your room without worrying about Admiral things. Or Batthings.

Oh, because you know so much about Batthings.

[Which got her another playful smirk from his spot on the couch.]
