[Warden Filter]

So, in light of Amanda's most recent network post, and some of the stuff Hoffman said to me while he was in the infirmary, I think it might be a good idea for someone to go through his room and make sure he doesn't have anything dangerous stored in there that we don't know about. There's some really bad blood between these two, and I'm pretty sure no one but the two of them really wants them to just keep killing each other every week.

I'd be happy to look through Hoffman's room myself, but if anyone's got particularly strong feelings about wanting to help, I wouldn't say no to an extra pair of hands.

And speaking of weapons and all that, does anyone actually know how she got her hands on the knife in the first place? I know she's unassigned, but I thought people were trying to keep an eye on that, all things considered.

[Private to Ariadne]

Did you ever find out where she got the knife?

Mate. I've been in prison. It's all the more reason to get on someone's good side. Behind every prison batshit insane guy, there's three people helping him, because they know the knife'll never be turned on them. They're safe. So it's... protection, I guess.

And I'd only talk to him, see what he thinks of her and shit at this point. Because if he isn't helping her out? You might give the bloke ideas or something.

No problem.

Depends. If you've got leverage over them - say, by hiding their weapons, when their room's getting searched every other week, you're gonna be reluctant to smash their face in.

People not staying dead doesn't stop people killing each other, does it? People ain't logical, usually.

I bet you anything, it's some inmate that thinks they can avoid her wrath or whatever you want to call it, by helping her out and hiding things.

Nah. Nobody helped her the first time, did they?

Jesus, no. Go talk to someone who makes notes.

Though she's had them before, and they've all been shit. By my count. No offence if anyone's reading.

To be fair. She's content enough in explaining her own crimes to us as it is.

And people'll be sorted, what, tomorrow, day after?

Well, no. But, equally, you don't always need a file to do your job. Shouldn't be relying on what you read all the time.

And if that happens? We just demand their files. Fairly sure it can be done.

Facts are a bit overrated, sometimes.

Keeping an eye on meaning not searching her shit?

I'd help you, but I'm taken and shit.

You start focusing too much on the stuff written on paper, and you miss what's happening in front of you. Being here changes folks, even if it's not much, from what they were originally like in their files anyway. And I'd much rather try and figure someone out from dealing with them than by reading up on them like they're a novel.

Eh, it ain't my problem. I'm just saying.

Nah, of course not. But I doubt you can know everything about someone else anyway.
