Just a note for anyone who's missed this memo: people have contacted the Admiral about what happens to people who disappear before. He's said he doesn't control when they vanish any more than we do. I know we don't really have reason to trust his word on stuff like this, but I figured it's something worth hearing.

There have been plenty of tough cases who have graduated and a lot of crappy wardens who have overstayed their welcome, and the Admiral didn't get rid of them. It'd save a lot of time and energy if people could keep that in mind next time anyone starts making accusations that someone got kicked off because the Admiral gave up on them, or thinks they've been doing a lousy job.

[Dick wasn't overly pleased with how this had gone down. Bruce acting like a jackass wasn't anything new or unexpected, in so many ways, and he was an inmate. This sort of behavior was to be expected.

But Dean and Faith were wardens, and it always, always bothered Dick when confrontations between wardens turned into what was basically a playground brawl. They were supposed to be the role models here, and he got that both of them were upset, but calling names and intentionally looking to piss the other off was ridiculous. He might side more with Dean because he was his friend, and he didn't particularly like Faith, but they were both definitely in the wrong here.

He turned to Dean after the other two had left, expression and voice still level and serious rather than angry, and gestured for the other man to show him his injured arm.]

[Aya listens patiently, with Dick's explanation basically confirming her suspicious. It was far from a perfect system, and unfortunately, the one person would could do something about it...wasn't.]

I do not seek to punish, however. Merely offer additional support. If not for those who would automatically reject, than at least for the remaining populace who may be more open to the idea. For example, I have come across multiple instances in my own position where I have been incapable of understanding the logic behind certain words and actions. [Mostly because Pyro doesn't really do logic] It was only through the advice of others that I was able to calculate the best possible course of action in the wake of what had occured.

It is just a theory.

I think that's a great idea. It's definitely easy to feel overwhelmed by your inmate if they've got a lot of issues you're not overly familiar with, I think creating some kind of support network for people who don't have close friends who can help or other people to call on specifically would help.

[Even though Dick cannot see, Aya smiles on her end when he agrees with her.]

It is perhaps the closest thing to an Organization we may be able to produce.

It's definitely better than nothing.

I will seek out other Wardens for their opinions on this matter.

[A pause, and she switches the feed over to Private for this next part]

Regarding the name you gave. Slade.

I have no records of him within my database.

He's an assassin and mercenary from my world. He's pretty involved in the cape and cowl community, and he's incredibly dangerous. I'm serious about giving him space unless you need to talk to him about something.

I can think of no immediate scenarios which would require me to seek out his presence.

You said he was an assassin...do you believe he will continue carrying out the methods of his trade on fellow Wardens and/or Inmates?

[Aya was not afraid for herself, as she could not die. But she was concerned for her friends; she had many who belonged to the 'cape and cowl' community alone, and even more beyond that circle.]

No. Believe me, he's not half as crazy as someone like Bruce.

[She hesitated here, recalling the animosity between the two men.]

I have exchanged only pleasantries with him. [Meaning Bruce. Hopefully, the highlighting of personal positive experiences would put Dick's mind at ease. If only a little.] We competed in a very informative round of Chess. He won.

He's annoying like that.

Maybe an expression's the wrong phrase to use. I meant it sort of affectionately.

In other words, you meant it to be an ironic statement.

Well. Maybe fifty fifty. He can be incredibly annoying, but I've been putting up with it long enough to find it endearing.

Because you care about him.

The man I know back home took me in when I was eight and treated me like his son. Of course I care about him.

Enough to also care about the man who is here. You would not continue to react if you did not. I have learned this much of human behavior.

It is not strictly human. All beings who show emotion react in a similar way.
